Wow! Driving around town always is fun (there is so much to look at) and I love the opportunity to show visitors around. When I tell you the events and features as we drive by, it reminds me what a wonderful area that we live in. It is so easy to stay in our own limited environment, but getting out and about is worth the time! Take just 1/2 hour and park downtown and windowshop, enjoy the fresh air, and visit new and old friends.
By the way, the Historic Freeman House (also home of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce) in downtown Punta Gorda has been decorated with beautiful red poinsettias for the holiday. Stroll by the Banyan Tree, watch the sea gulls glide over the water by Gilchrist Park, and I'm sure you will feel your spirits rise from the experience!
